Posting Schedule

What follows is the official posting schedule for all of the stories and their accompanying art. If you truly and sincerely cannot post on your scheduled date, please let us know by commenting on this entry. But, since the schedule has been assembled using careful, delicate algorithms to keep all the BBs and MBs beautifully balanced over a two-month period -- please try and keep to your assigned posting date as much as possible, this is afterall a challenge!

Please remember, none of your story or artwork should be posted before your assigned date. When that date comes around, please use the following format to post your work on the livejournal community:

Feel free to add to the above format (a disclaimer, spoilers, author's notes, etc.), but please don't make the post too lengthy or cluttered. If you would like to post an art piece as a header/promo with the master post please make sure it is no bigger than 400 x 400 or it won't fit on the LJ layout.

If you wish to post somewhere off LJ (such as AO3) you are welcome to do that. Just use the above template for your header and include a link to the fic/art wherevere you have posted it.

AUTHOR/ARTIST PAIRINGS

All fics have now been claimed so without further ado here is a list of the author/artist pairings! (This is a lie, please glance through the further ado written below before you rush off to check out your pairing.)

NOTE: This year we are trying something new and the moderators will be emailing out both the drafts and preferred contact information of each author to their respective artist. It is up to the artist to please take the time to please get in touch with their author as soon as possible and begin reading the draft.

Also, you need to discuss your joint availability during the posting period and let us know any dates you can't do by replying to this post. We will be creating the schedule based upon the information you give us here, so please ensure that it is as accurate as you can be.

Posting will start on Oct 3rd and run every week day through to (potentially) the end of November.

ART CLAIMS - ROUND TWO!

Claims are now open for ROUND TWO, artists may now claim an additional story and artists who have not yet chosen are still welcome to make one (or two) claims.

Artists, if you are making a second claim, please be sure that you are able to commit equal time to both stories.

Authors, don't fret if you haven't been claimed yet! It's quite normal for a big bang to do 2 or 3 claim posts like this. Artists are rare and beautiful creatures, much like unicorns, and yours will come along soon enough.

ALL STORIES HAVE BEEN CLAIMED.

ART CLAIMS - ROUND ONE! *dingding!*

It is time! You've looked over the lists, you've picked out a couple stories you'd love to work on and now you're here to claim! But before you jump the gun and start spewing numbers at us, take a couple seconds to familiarize yourself with the mechanics of how all this works to save everyone headaches and heartbreak.

  • If you don't have an LJ, we have allowed anonymous commenting but please provide the username that you registered with in order to have your claim accepted.

  • If there are still unclaimed fics this time tomorrow, artists will be welcome to make a secondary claim if they desire to do so. (Authors, if your story falls into this category, don't despair! Claims aren't about "I want the best story, and your story wasn't claimed because it sucks," claims are based on interest in the content. Not every artist wants to draw unicorns and your story about Dean and Castiel as unicorns seems to suggest that a lot of unicorns will need to be drawn.)

  • The moderators will send an email to the artists with their author's story and contact information after the match-up post has gone live, when every prompt has been claimed. This is to prevent heart ache and misunderstandings if a situation arises in the midst of claiming due to a mistake being made.

ART CLAIMS INFO

Tomorrow  at 1 PM EDT (on SATURDAY, AUGUST 20) a post will go live allowing artists to begin claiming the stories that they would like to work on. Artists are invited to list their top three prompts in order of preference and claims will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. At this point artists will only be permitted to claim one fic.

If you're not sure what time this is for you, look up what time it is in New York City and compare that to your current time.

After 24 hours, a second post will be made listing any unclaimed prompts. At this point artists will be invited to claim a second fic if they wish, and this will carry on until all stories have been claimed.

This year we ask that all artists please register for the challenge beforre claiming any stories. In the past, people have expressed their frustration with not being able to get in touch with their author/artist and we're going to try to facilitate the process by ensuring we have a working email address for all challenge participants**. If you have not registered yet, please take the time to do so here. If you think you have registered but can't remember whether you did or not, either comment here with the username you signed up as requesting confirmation, or simply fill out the registration form again.

If you try to make a claim without registering first, you will be notified, and your claim will be skipped over in favor of the next person in order.

If you are unable to participate in the claiming at the designated start time and are worried about getting your first choice(s), you may assign a proxy to make a claim for you. Please make sure that your proxy knows what username you have registered with and indicates that when they claim for you.

Let us know if you have any questions or concerns!

**The DCBB will not give out anyone's email address without prior consent, but it is much easier for us to facilitate communication if we ourselves can email people directly.
